The tuition course I have created for you based on my experience of working with ACCA makes sure that you have knowledge of the key technical areas which the computer based exam (CBE) requires you to apply in a commercial and workplace related way. The course will highlight the key things you need to know and then show how to apply this knowledge using simple techniques that will deliver you fantastic answers to real exam questions.
To supplement the technical knowledge, I will also be sending you regular articles which explain how some of the technical things we discuss apply and are relevant in current real-life business situations. This is very important as the SBL examining team will be also influenced by these events and some of them will act to catalyse real exam questions.
This course is designed to get you through your exam if you are sitting in 2 months’ time, or later. However, I would really encourage you to get yourself organised and follow my advice in all the motivational articles I have written on the ACCA website and get this exam out of the way as soon as possible – and then start living your life again. If you follow my approach it is definitely something you can do – so please have confidence and, if you are reading this shortly after results day, enter for the next exam sitting.
This course consists of pre-recorded lectures covering all of the main areas that are needed to create good insights and opinions to SBL case questions. You will also get summary guidance notes on how to approach each area. There are relevant homework questions, with video debriefs of the questions. This material will be integrated with videos and articles produced by the ACCA examining team.
This course concludes with a 4-hour SBL mock, just as in the real exam, with a full professional standard marking service. All of the questions will be of an exam standard right from the start so you get fully familiar with what is expected of you in the real exam. Even better, and unlike many other SBL courses, you will answer many of your practice questions on the ACCA practice platform (designed by the ACCA to mimic your real SBL CBE exam platform) so you can become fully familiar with its functionality.
Your approach to following the course will be manged by clear guidance and will involve building up knowledge step by step before showing you how to apply it to real exam questions. You will attempt more questions to exam standard / in exam time than you may have done when studying for applied skills papers. It is really important that you attempt the questions I set this way as that is how you will earn yourself the best chance of being successful. | Summary Course Notes | The videos will hopefully be enough but I will provide summaries of each video topic area which will include notes, relevant slide decks and mind maps to ensure all your senses are stimulated. These will also include exam standard illustrations with answers. |

(*1) HD Videos can be streamed to your PC, Mac, tablet or smart phone (technology permitting) and can be watched as many times as you wish prior to your exam sitting.
(*2) WhatsApp support will be via a dedicated WhatsApp group, which will involve revealing your contact details to other students. Sean Purcell will answer questions that relate to tuition materials, but not questions that relate to the revision phase or past exam questions not included in the tuition course. The WhatsApp group is for Sean Purcell to support your study approach and answer your questions: it is not an exercise in the ‘blind leading the blind’, so mutual student support is encouraged, but the exchange of copyright materials between students (by any means), or any attempt by a student to obtain such materials from another student, will lead to exclusion from the course. This WhatsApp group will close approximately 4 weeks before your exam, but if you subsequently enrol on the SBL Platinum Revision course Sean Purcell will continue to answer your tuition queries via private message.
